The Waste Sector in Spain

The reduction, treatment and management of waste is considered to be one of the biggest environmental problems in our society. The EU has therefore established some guidelines to deal with this issue.

The big challenge facing Spain by 2020, is to achieve 50% of all houehold waste recycled. Even though each person generates about 464kgs of waste, that is still 5.6% below the average in the EU. The average being 492kgs.

Despite the fact that more and more people are becoming aware of the importance of waste, at Chatarras Hernández we want to help spread the awareness even further.

In order to recycle 50% of all domestic waste we all have to contribute. To achieve this objective everyone must participate.
